'Talardd' in Llanllwni is first mentioned in 1626. It was on the old drover's route. Drovers would stop for refreshments and a rest, before driving their livestock over Llanllwni mountain on their way to cattle markets over the border. Field-names next to the Talardd reflect the needs of the cattle-drive and the final destination - Cae nos (Field for the night) Cae Henffordd (Hereford Field) Cae Llwydlo (Ludlow Field).
Tafarn y Talardd still offers that old, warm and friendly welcome which comes from the atmosphere in the building itself, the traditional Welsh furniture, the open fires, the real ales, the home cooking and last but not least, the staff. John, Anne and all the team look forward to seeing you. Call in and experience for yourselves our real Welsh welcome - CROESO. ok.
